The Sopranos "On Location"

Centannis Meat Market - Elizabeth, NJ

It all started in Elizabeth, about one year before we saw the first episode of The Sopranos. Many viewers never noticed the change from Centanni's Meat Market to Satriales Pork Store . Centanni's Meat Market is located on 2nd Ave on Elizabeth, NJ.

Dukes Street & Kearny Ave

Standing in front of Satriale's Pork Store, looking West, this intersection has been used in several episodes. Most memorable is the scene in "House Arrest." After visiting Dr Melfi Tony returns to the pork store tired of the legit act. The hear a crash outside and comment, "It's the dipshit Carmine again." Pulie sits down, pulls out his sun reflector and Agent Harris arrives to introduce his new partner. The red IROC used in this scene is owned by a resident of Linden Ave in Kearny. Their house is also used for many of the flashback scenes where we see Tony (as a child) and his father. This link will take you to some of the actual production photos from their house on Linden Ave.

Satin Dolls a.k.a. "Bada Bing Club" - Lodi, NJ

Residents of Lodi, New Jersey know the Bada Bing Club as "Satin Dolls" - a local mens club located in the South bound lane of Rt 17. Prior to being Satin Dolls, locals knew this place as "Tara's"; it was a great place to have a drink or a light dinner, not to mention that it's where I met my wife! Passer-bys will see mention on their sign which says "a.k.a. Bada Bing." The "Bada Bing" Club is located next door to the "Party Box", another location where HBO filmed the Sopranos.

The Guardrail Behind Bada Bing

In Episode 32: UNIVERSITY, Tony is sitting in the Bada Bing when one of the dancers, Tracee approaches him. She's a twenty-year-old mother who dances naked for a living, but she acts like some kind of Brady Bunch wannabe. Later, Tracee is MIA from the Bada Bing. It turns out that she's pregnant and the father is none other than Ralph Cifaretto. For three days she's been holed up in Ralph's apartment, plying him with Fresca, cocaine and Pop Tarts in an attempt to demonstrate her homemaking skills. Later, at a party at the Bing, Tracee insults Ralph in front of a roomful of made guys. Then she goes outside for a cigarette, Ralph right behind her. Tracee makes a few swipes at Ralph, who takes it in stride -- until she draws blood. In a brutally thorough beating, Ralph hammers Tracee with his fists and then rejoins the party, leaving her lifeless body in the parking lot.

This scene was filmed behind Satin Dolls (Bada Bing Club) in Lodi, NJ on October 11-12, 2000 During this filming session several fight scenes were also filmed behind "the Bing"

The Party Box - Lodi, NJ
Remember the infamous scene when Pussy meets the federal agent in the party store and the Elvis impersonator shows up? That was shot right next door to the Bada Bing club at a party supply store called the Party Box. The tip off there was the scene at their side door which clearly showed the giant 648 ft antenna used by WABC radio. When you're entering the Party Box look up and you'll see a sign commemorating the HBO episode shot there.

Ramsay Outdoor Stores - Paramus, NJ

When Stuart Levine, owner of Ramsey Outdoor Stores, took out two newspaper ads to herald the fact that his Paramus sporting goods establishment would be seen on "The Sopranos", he never thought he may have to take out yet another ad to counteract any wrong impression left by that fictional program.

Levine, who has three stores, says his brush with "The Sopranos" began when a location scout walked into his Paramus store one late-summer day, took a look around, and told Levine the HBO drama might be interested in doing some filming there."Frankly, I thought they were just kidding me," says Levine. I got a phone call. They said they were very interested in using the store."

Levine and the production company struck an agreement. "They took pictures of the outside, and they agreed to use our name," says Levine, who does not know why the store's name got slightly altered. "They were even using our staff shirts." He closed the store for one day in September, and another day in November, and said HBO paid him about what he would have made in sales for those days.

Ramsay Outdoor is located next to the Circuit City store in Paramus, NJ on Rt. 17 North.
