The Sopranos "On Location"

Satriale's Pork Store - Kearny, NJ

Probably one of the most popular locations in the Sopranos is Satriales Pork Store. Residents of Kearny, NJ will remember it as West Hudson Auto Parts. It's located at 101 Kearny Ave, just North of West Hudson Park next door the Irish American Club . An interesting piece of trivia that many viewers never noticed is that in the first episode of the first season, Tony's base of operation was Centanni's Meat Market on 2nd Ave on Elizabeth, NJ.

A local newspaper ran the story that HBO crews had to negotiate a daily fee with the loyal Irishmen to replace the Irish flag with the Italian flag during each day of filming. The Irish American Club can be seen in the background (it's the green building that has the satellite dish on the roof) on any episode that shows the store front shot.

The Sopranos production company transformed the building into what we see as Satriales Pork store. Many famous scenes including the one when Christopher and Furio were disposing of Richie were filmed here. Recently while a scene for the 2002 season was being filmed I was lucky enough to get some interior shots of Sariales.
