The Sopranos "On Location"

"The Bridge" at the Great Falls - Paterson, NJ

Remember episode #6 ("Pax Soprana" - Uncle Junior Becomes the Boss), last year when two of Tony's boys threw the guy off the bridge? The "bridge" is built over the Great Falls in Paterson, NJ. These falls once supplied power to the great "silk city." The Paterson Police Department respond to numerous calls of a body laying in the water near the falls. After shooting that scene, it took the producers of the Sopranos a week to retrieve the fake body. The city of Paterson billed the show for all of the false alarms responded to by police and fire dept. due to their failure to remove the dummy. Thanks to "The Hump" for this bit of trivia. If you're in the area the "bridge" is accessed by going up McBride Avenue, one block above the falls. Go into the parking lot of the high school and walk down the path towards the falls.

"The Carousel" at Garden State Plaza - Paramus, NJ

Remember the flashbacks Tony had of Bevelaqua crying for his mother before he and Pussy took care of him? This scene was filmed in front of the carousel at the Garden State Plaza mall in Paramus, NJ.

Joe's Bake Shop - N Arlington, NJ

During a first season episode, Moltisanti flies into a rage and shoots the foot of a bakery worker he feels is disrespecting him. The scene is an homage to the classic Mob flick Goodfellas, in which a guy named Spider is shot in the foot by hotheaded gangster Joe Pesci. And the guy who played Spider? Michael Imperioli. The bakery was portrayed to be in Nutley. Actually, HBO crews used Joe's Bakery located on the corner of Jauncey Ave and Ridge Road in North Arlington.

Federici Park - Paterson, NJ

In episode #18, "Big Girls Don't Cry", Tony and Paulie meet in front of a statue of Lou Costello. Tony breaks the news to Paulie that "Friend of ours is coming in", that being Furio. That scene was shot in Federici Park on Cianci St in downtown Paterson, NJ. Lou was born in Paterson and donated a lot to the city during his lifetime. The park is not in the greatest section of town and I had to make several visits before I could get a shot without homeless people sleeping in front of the statue! <Some locals refer t o this park as Lou Costello Park>

"R" Towne Deli - Little Falls, NJ

Remember the scene when Richie had to deal with one of his sanitation customers who was complaining about the service? A dump truck unloaded a huge pile of old produce in front of the "R Towne Deli" in Little Falls, NJ

Wayne Towne Center - Wayne, NJ

In episode 15, "Do Not Resuscitate", Tony has a meeting in the mall. This and several other scenes were shot at the Wayne Towne Center mall in Wayne, NJ - specifically in and around the TGI Fridays. Wayne Town Center is next to the Willowbrook Mall just west of the Rt 46 - Rt 80 - Rt 23 junctions.
